Shamanic Trance Dance in Thailand

On Saturday 10th January, we experienced something truly profound. Both of us have never experienced anything like this before.
The Chanting Mantra reached out to Shakti, Vishnu and Shiva using voice and a harmonium. We set our intentions, which brought us into the flow of a calm connected state, which is a beautiful experience in itself. This also got us ready for what happened next.
The Shamanic Trance Dance is absolutely unbelievable; a journey that takes you deep within for self discovery. We definitely need more of this in our lives. It is a dance practiced blindfolded. This method is so the ego can disappear, knowing it is just yourself in your own dark space, experiencing your own ego death and realising who you truly are. No one can see you, and you can not see them, so you can flow freely how the body wants to move, while listening to a range of different tempo beats, drums and melodic sounds and vocals.
Olivia's Experience:
"It took me a while to surrender ego, but when I fell deep into my true nature and allowed my soul to feel free, I suddenly experienced a visual from the Divine Feminine. She showed me the vast tree of life. I was dancing within its roots. I felt like a tiny spec of dust as I looked up but the tree offered me love and a spiritual experience like no other. It was that moment during the Shamanic Trance Dance that I came to realise how truly powerful Mother Nature is and how the wisdom of trees offers us this message. We are no different to each other. We are the same. We are nature. When you walk into the world of spirit and experience true connection, only then will you recognise that we are all one. One love. One light. One consciousness. One unity."
Ian's Experience:
"It began slightly awkward as I did not know what to expect or where to put myself, and dancing sober takes time for me to adjust. Plus the fact that I am blindfolded. It did not take long before I found a state of peacefulness flowing through me. The ego had vanished. I could not do much but focus on the music and my own movements. I could not see anything so the senses of my hearing, and the souls of my feet firmly on the floor keeping my balance was putting me purely in the moment. Thoughts came and went, and then a vision came to me which was surreal. I was in a tribe in some place surrounded by trees. There were fireballs alight on sticks around this flat large circular area. I saw a tribe of people doing what seemed like a ceremonial dance. It then came to me that I was playing the drums to this ceremonial dance. People where dancing and everything was flowing in rhythm. It felt so real. Almost like I was there. I then came out of it and I did not know what had just happened. I was told after I entered the spirit world. It has struck me a bit as I have said for a long time now that we as humans are not supposed live how we do. We are tribal, and should live in community, hunting and gathering. To then have this vision. Hand on heart, that was truly an outstanding experience. I am still trying to process it now."
An Ongoing Journey with The Calling for More
This experience has truly anchored us with feet firmly on the ground, needing to embark on a journey of travel to experience a range of spiritual practices within different cultures. We would like to thank the facilitators for their guidance throughout these two workshops and look forward to sharing more about our Thailand adventure soon.
With Love,
Olivia and Ian
